Apple has approved a iPhone  heart rate monitoring app called CardioMapper. CardioMapper claims they are the first approved app that can use a Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy Profile heart rate monitor strap and SmartHRM.  CardioMapper uses the iPhone’s GPS, and logs heart rate, speed, distance, pace, and calories burned. CardioMapper also has an interval trainer function, which audibly tells you if you need to speed up or slow down. You can also view your workout on a map. The app costs$1.99, and is available via download in the Apple App Store.
