The Polar H7 and H6 are Bluetooth Smart heart rate sensors that work together with an iPhone 4S and 5. Polar introduced the H7 heart rate sensor in May 2012. At the time, this was one of the few heart rate sensor straps available. The H7 had the advantage of  working with many of the  iPhone apps. You can find our review of the H7, and the apps that work with the H7 here:

iPhone Apps That Work With The Polar H7

After the release of the H7, Polar decided to release their own iPhone app, and in November 2012 they released Polar Beat for the iPhone. (This app will be reviewed in a future post)

The Polar H6 was released in February 2013. Since then, many of you have already asked, “What’s the difference between the Polar H6 and H7 heart rate sensors?”  Today we will answer that question.

To begin with, both heart rate sensors work with the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5.The major difference is that the Polar H6 only works with iPhones, whereas the H7 works with iPhones, other Polar products, and compatible gym equipment. For a full list of compatible Polar products, check out our review or the H7 in the link above. Here are the specs of the H6 and H7 taken from the Polar website:
